Download Twitch highlights and uploads
Besides past broadcasts, Twitch channels can have highlights and uploads. Vodsnip shows all three for every channel and downloads them as MP4.
Past broadcasts vs. highlights vs. uploads
- Past broadcasts are automatic recordings of live streams. They expire after 7 to 60 days.
- Highlights are parts of past broadcasts the streamer chose to keep on their channel.
- Uploads are videos the streamer uploaded directly to Twitch.
Highlights and uploads stay on the channel until they’re deleted, but each channel is limited to 100 hours of them in total. More about Twitch storage limits.
How to download a highlight or upload
- Search for the streamer in Vodsnip and open the channel.
- Switch between the Broadcasts, Highlights and Uploads tabs at the top.
- Click Download on the video, pick a quality and choose the full video or timestamps.
- Click Download – the MP4 is saved to your computer.

What is the difference between a Twitch highlight and a VOD?
A VOD (past broadcast) is the automatic recording of a stream and expires after 7–60 days. A highlight is a part of a stream the streamer chose to keep on the channel.
Can I download Twitch uploads?
Yes. Open the Uploads tab on the channel in Vodsnip and click Download.
Can I download subscriber-only highlights?
No. Vodsnip only downloads publicly available videos.
